Meet Dr. Rachel Matta
Dr. Rachel N Matta graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in June of 2010 with a DDS degree. She was also married in June of 2010 to her husband, Nathan.
Dr. Matta was born and raised in West Des Moines.
She is a third generation dentist. Her father, Dr. Larry Nelson, practiced dentistry in Des Moines for 38 years and her grandfather, Paul, practiced dentistry for 54 years in downtown Des Moines.
She is a member of the American Dental Association, Iowa Dental Association and the Des Moines District Dental Society.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Matta enjoys watching movies, trying new restaurants, cooking, dancing, and walking. She loves spending time with her friends and family, especially the newest members - her wonderful daughter, Mariel, and lovable dog, Butter.
Dr. Matta loves all aspects of patient care. She especially enjoys developing strong relationships with patients by educating and helping each patient make informed decisions about treatment.
Dr. Matta is a member of the Adel Partners Chamber of Commerce and is excited to be involved in the community of Adel and greater Dallas County.

Hanna - Dental Hygienist
Hanna started her dental hygiene career in 2017 after graduating from DMACC. She truly enjoys making people feel more confident in their smiles.
Hanna lives in Dexter with her husband, Matthew, and their three kids, Ellie, Rhodes, and Noah. They also have two golden retrievers, Berklee and Ruby
Out of the office, Hanna enjoys spending time outside playing with her children, coaching and playing volleyball, and cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones!

Megan - Dental Hygienist
Megan is one of our dental hygienists and started her hygiene career in 2020. She loves helping people improve their health and oral care.
Megan and her 2 children, Kennedy and Briar, relocated to Adel in 2021. She enjoys meeting and conversing with all her patients!
Outside of the office, Megan is busy with her kid's sports activities. She loves to travel and always has somewhere she's planning to go!

Brooke - Dental Hygienist
Kelcey - Office Manager
Kelcey is the office manager at Matta Family Dental. She spent 8 years in veterinary medicine, but decided to make the switch to the dental field in July 2024. She began her dental career as our front desk coordinator and is excited for the promotion to office manager!
Kelcey moved to the area in 2024 and is originally from southern Minnesota. In her free time she enjoys reading, cross-stitching, going to concerts, and cheering on the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Wild.
She is excited to build relationships with our patients and learn all things dental!

Krista - Front Office Coordinator
Krista is the first friendly face you will see when you come to Matta Family Dental. She can help with scheduling and insurance questions.
Krista was born and raised in West Des Moines. She now lives in Urbandale with her husband, Matt, and two cats. She has two grown sons.
In her spare time, Krista enjoys reading, crocheting, yoga, and baking. She enjoys forming relationships with patients, getting to know them and making them feel comfortable with coming to the dental office.

Stephanie - Expanded Functions Dental Assistant
Stephanie is one of our chairside dental assistants and the person you will often see working alongside Dr. Matta. She helps prepare the treatment room and helps to make patients comfortable during treatment, among many other important responsibilities.
Stephanie is originally from California. She has been in the dental industry for 28 years. She relocated to Iowa with her husband, Eric, to be near their kids and grandkids. She also has a cat, Jax.
When not at the office, Stephanie likes to spend time with her kids and grandkids. She also enjoys gardening. Stephanie loves connecting with patients, getting to know them and helping them maintain a healthy smile.

Amy - Expanded Functions Dental Assistant
Amy is our newest chairside dental assistant, often seen working directly with Dr. Matta.
Amy grew up in the Des Moines and Carlisle areas, where she still resides. She has been in the dental field since 1996. She is married to Dennis and they have three children, Kolby, Karlee, and Korben. She also has two dogs - Wrigley and Luna
When not at work, Amy loves spending time with her family. She enjoys cooking, being active, and listening to audiobooks. She loves making patients feel comfortable getting dental work done, particularly our anxious patients.

Butter - Chief of Cuddles/Office Pet
Butter is Dr. Matta's 8 year old maltichon. She loves cuddles, having her belly and ears scratched, and giving kisses. She will sometimes play tug of war or dance for a treat!
Butter does not bark, nor does she shed. She's happy to greet you in the waiting room, or sit on your lap during your visit.
